The Three Escapees

The Three Escapees

A Wombat, Bat and Kangaroo, all wanted to escape the zoo. They knew the things they’d need to do, had a good idea, well thought through. They talked for days and drew a plan, Bat chose to be the lookout man, Wombat would ram into the gate, And knock it down, use all his weight. Then clinging onto kangaroo, They’d bound out of that beastly zoo. They packed some fruit and ginger beer, and waited till the coast was clear. The next day as the sun arose, the three escapees gathered close. Bats beady eyes, they scouted round, “It’s time to go, don’t make a sound”. They waddled, bounced, flew to the gate, where wombat rammed with all his weight. With a shudder and a snapping sound, that gate collapsed, straight to the ground. Bat looked around “the coast is clear. Come on, let’s all get out of here, They’ll be on to us soon, for sure, I won’t go back to jail, no more”. ................
