PUBLISHED PICTURE BOOKS

Tree Beings –  I have today reviewed your latest book, Tree Beings, and wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your illustrations. There are simply wonderful, especially your double-page spreads for each section of the book which are absolute works of art. You also draw and paint people brilliantly, which many illustrators are not so proficient at. I hope that it finds a huge readership as it’s a comprehensive book about the great value trees are in our world. Books. Di Bates Compiler, Buzz Words

In The Shadow Of An Elephant- The illustrations are particularly moving. Sandra Severgnini perfectly captures the emotions of the characters. It’s hard not to be moved by this book.- Ken Williams Reading With a Chance Of Tacos

The Christmas Garden – Sandra Severgnini’s soft and whimsical illustrations carry a hint of magic. They bring out the nature in the garden and give personality to the characters, whilst grounding the story in reality so kids can really feel like they could be part of it. Sarah Wallace – KBR

Where’s Lucky – Sandra’s gentle, gorgeous illustrations bring Lucky’s story to life beautifully. Her artwork demonstrates the humour of many of the situations as well as the love and care and hectic nature of life in the animal shelter. I think the illustrations will have every child begging to go and see a wallaby or other native animal straight away! – Kellie Byrnes Blog

  1. Wow. Oh, wow. And wow! Congratulations on a job better than well done. Your illustrations for In the Shadow of an Elephant are outstanding. They bring so much to the story and do exactly what illustrations should do because they add their own layers to the work. I hope this book is placed in school and public libraries all over the world so readers of all ages can appreciate the excellent story and the wonderful art that brings it to life.

    1. Emma, thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback and your generous comments for In The Shadow Of An Elephant. It was certainly a special story to illustrate and we were thrilled to receive a finalist place in the 2019 International Book Awards. 😁

  2. Hi there Sandra
I have today reviewed your latest book, Tree Beings, and wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your illustrations. There are simply wonderful, especially your double-page spreads for each section of the book which are absolute works of art. You also draw and paint people brilliantly, which many illustrators are not so proficient at. I truly hope that Tree Beings wins the CBCA Book of the Year for non-fiction. It ought to! I also hope that it finds a huge readership as it’s a comprehensive book about the great value trees are in our world. Please feel free to pass my praise on to Raymond Huber and EK Books.

    1. Thank you so much for your glowing compliment Di and taking the time to message, it means a lot! I was grateful I had the chance to illustrate it as trees, the environment and especially animals are subjects very important to me (and should be to all). Raymond and all involved were inspirational to work with and hopefully the enthusiasm shows in the finished book. 🙂

Hi Sandra! Dr Dain Heer shared Tree Beings on his Access Consciousness facebook page and though i haven’t had the privilege to hold the book closely i can see the illustrations are a joy to behold. I’m inspired as i consider a billboard project in honour of trees. What would it take to reproduce your artwork on that scale? Pure dreaming and spontaneous messaging here! Are you based in Australia??
    Cheers,
    Liz

    1. Thank you for your interest in my illustrations Liz, it is a lovely compliment. Unfortunately the publisher holds the rights to the illustrations for the term of the book publishing. I am based in Australia and the publisher is New Zealand based. It may be worth your time to enquire direct with the publisher and find out their point of view on using the illustrations in your billboard project. Kind regards Sandra
